Approximately every 4 Russians suffer from allergies. Pollen, animal hair, and various foods are common triggers of the disease. Some allergens have a more intense effect on women. According to scientists, they more and more often suffer from pollen and food allergies, as well as from asthma.

Over 20,000 different factors causing allergies.

The number of allergy sufferers has increased significantly in recent decades. According to an older survey, every 4 adults in Russia suffer from allergies. A recent study also showed that every 3 children already suffer from civilization sickness.

15% of Russians have hay fever.

The number of people with allergic asthma is also increasing. Almost every 10 people develop asthma in life. Many researchers confirm the fact that an increase in the number of allergies is quite dangerous.

Rapid disease growth affects primarily developed countries and, rarely, rural areas of developing countries. Therefore, the connection with the environment and lifestyle is obvious. Urban residents have much more frequent contact with allergens than previous generations.

In cities, there is more pollution from car exhaust, cigarette smoke and various environmental toxins.

Lack of exercise, constant stress, and malnutrition can contribute to allergies.

There are many possible reasons. Today, more than 20,000 different allergy triggers are known. According to Austrian experts, some allergens appear to be more problematic for women than for men.

Women more and more often suffer from pollen and food allergies.

Women are more and more allergic to pollen and food, and therefore, asthma. According to studies, sex hormones increase the risk of both asthma and allergies. Also, according to experts, hormonal supplements play a significant role in the development of allergic diseases.

According to scientific data, up to 10 years, boys are more likely to suffer from allergies and asthma. But with the onset of puberty and puberty, increased estrogen secretion increases the vulnerability of girls.

Estrogens make inflammatory cells more sensitive to allergens. In contrast, the male hormone testosterone seems to perform a kind of protective function. This phenomenon accompanies women with waves of hormone secretion at the appropriate stages of their life.

Hormonal emissions are observed with the use of contraceptives, during pregnancy and with hormone replacement therapy. Women are more sensitive to environmental pollutants, especially to smoking.

During pregnancy, the balance of hormones changes especially strongly. Asthma may worsen in 1/3 of pregnant women. An asthma attack during pregnancy is a high risk for both the mother and the baby. Therefore, early detection of allergies, preferably before pregnancy, plays an important role in the quality of life of the mother.

Is there an allergy to birth control pills?

A field of research that is still in its infancy is an allergy to the hormones themselves. Contraceptive allergies, which can even lead to miscarriages.

Scientists see an urgent need not only to begin research in this area, but also to continue the diagnosis together with gynecologists. In Russia, as in most other countries, today there is practically no experience.

The use of hormones is indispensable in terms of life and family planning. However, there are no effective methods to prevent or mitigate the side effects caused by hormonal substances.

Hormones cause hypersensitivity, which is also described by atypical symptoms. These include migraines, joint complaints, eczema, acne, and breathing problems. The link between allergology and gynecology is too little attention is being paid at present.

It is not necessary to stop taking medications without consulting a doctor. If the potential risks to life seem significant, it is recommended to visit a doctor who can stop taking the drugs.
