Many parents know that children up to the age of about seven often suffer from various infectious diseases, and, unlike adults, they are more difficult to tolerate. At times, it seems that the body, not being able to fight because of its not yet strong body, attracts viruses and bacteria to itself. All this excludes the use of a number of drugs, including antibiotics. As a result of long-term observations and numerous experiments, scientists finally found the reason why the infections primarily affect children. It turns out the whole thing is the immaturity of the immune system of the child's body. In childhood, immune cells simply do not have time to mature.

At birth, the baby’s immune system is unusually weak; the baby’s body is just beginning to adapt to new conditions for it. During this period of a child’s life, immunity is suppressed for faster adaptation of beneficial flora, which turns out to be very beneficial soil for the propagation of pathogenic microbes. The transplantation of immune cells of newborn rats showed the absence of a positive result: the cells instantly lost their activity. However, reverse cell transplantation from a young mouse to an adult was normal. Further research showed that the “culprit” in suppressing immune cells is the arginase-2 enzyme, which is produced by CD71 in red blood cells
